I was delighted to know that Montigo resorts has an Indonesian restaurant/cafe. The word “warung” really made me feel home. Although the prices are not warung rates but you get what you get in a resort. Menu is pretty basic. But if you want my recommendations try the coffees. They have unique offerings that I’ve never tried before. Ambience is cozy and staff are top notch. If you’re not Indonesian visiting Indonesia go try Indonesian cuisine. Best cuisine in south east Asia.

This is a fairly new, medium sized outlet within Montigo resort. It serves only local Indonesian food. The Tahu Telor ( 2 pieces) was not bad, not big like it used to be at the other dining outlet at Montigo and the peanut sauce while tasty was lacking in fragrance (herbs). The main of Assam fish came with rice and keropok ( some soft) and Sambal Merah. There were limes for the Sambal which I used instead in the Assam to make it more sour. The fish was well cooked and very fresh! Nice with pineapples and green tomatoes in the assam. The Beef Rendang was a healthy portion served with rice and keropok. Tasty but again, would be better with a sprinkle of fragrant herbs. Not too spicy. Prefer a little softer but typically rendang is slightly firm. Best item, ginger drink. Brandek Aceh. Slightly milky, sweet and warm. Have that to finish then slip into food coma.

Yunyun who was serving us was polite, super helpful and friendly. Food was good. I ordered the Gado gado, tahu telor and pisang goreng. The tempeh in the gado gado was fresh and super yummy. Have eaten other tempeh, but this one is awesome, so was the pisang goreng. Overall experience,
